Leather mask

I have now finished my leather mask, (I love making these!) I need about a week to make one as the drying out can take a day or two, can't be rushed. I have gently shaped it around my styro head and then painted the leather black and decorated with three metal studs.
I could use leather dye but it appears that dyes fades quite quickly so I prefer to work the paint into the front side leaving the back natural.

The edges have tints of pewter colour and it ties with long black ribbon.

It is comfortable to wear, lightweight and 1.2 - 1.6 mm in thickness.

Leather mask

I bought some 4 oz veggie tanned leather and have made a smaller mask than usual, with a few creases and rolled slightly rolled edges.
When I was happy with the shape, I let it dry off and then painted it in metallic pewter and copper colours, these are my favourite colours to work with..
It looks quite like crumpled metal, and is listed in my Etsy shop!
It ties with black ribbon and is unisex, great for LARP enthusiasts!
