New Years Eve!

It's almost that time of year again ..Christmas parties and New Years Eve!!

Party Time!

The last posting dates outside the UK are the first week in December, so if you are thinking of getting a mask please make sure you order in plenty of time to avoid disappointment!

I have a great selection of handmade or hand decorated masquerade masks, each one is different and they are perfect for masked ball events, weddings and celebration parties, they are all suitable for teen to adult ladies or men ....some are unisex.

Fairy hair accessories and new vampire bat Alice bands

Away with the fairies! 

I have been making more fairy wing hair accessories!

 I really enjoy making these wearable miniature little gardens, they so cute and pretty with the moss,ivy leaves,flowers and ribbon roses and are a perfect accessory for garden parties, woodland weddings and fairy festivals.

They are available to buy from my Etsy shop or my shop some have already sold, but I am adding more all the time!

Hand decorated mask!

This mask is amazing, it looks so pretty and has real reindeer moss, fairy wings and a toadstool, it really is magical and comes in this lovely sparkly blue.

 It ties with long blue organza ribbon and is unique, you can buy it here!

Handmade mask!

I had great fun making this mask, it is made from strips of friendly plastic and decorated with gold glitter and little yellow flowers...looking very woodland. It has now sold! 

I am now in the process of making Gothic/vampire style Alice bands, these will be along the same theme as the fairy hair accessories but in black/purple/green ..so watch this space as pics should be up very soon!

Masquerade Masks for all events

I now have a New website as well as my Etsy shop!

 I am adding to it all the time, at the moment it still needs a few tweeks but I am very happy with it!

I will list new masks and accessories so that there is more of a variety to my Etsy store.

Purple leather mask

Now that my commission mask of the bird of prey is finished, I have started on a leather mask.

I cut out the shape from my veggie tanned leather piece and then wet molded it, curling the edges and getting the nose bridge nice and comfortable.

At the moment it is drying out nicely and when it is completely dry I will paint it purple, maybe metallic purple, ..we will see!

Bird of prey ..Eagle mask commission ..finished!

I have been working on a commission these last few weeks, and I am pleased to say it is now finished and in the post! 

I was asked to make an eagle character, that looked like a superhero but slightly menacing.

I bought several hundred feathers and after adding a mod roc (plaster bandage) beak to a pre-made mask and painting that a yellowish colour, I set about adding all the feathers,.. most of them individually! 

This is the base with mod roc and gesso as a base for the paint.

When it was all dry, I painted the beak.

 

I painted the base in shades of grey and put black around the eyes. 

Then ...I added the feathers, trying to get a smooth layer all over.

Looking pretty good at this stage, nice and fluffy! lol 

There is grey felt around the eyes to neaten the edges and give a frown effect and black ribbon attached inside to tie.

And ..this is the finished mask!

Catching my beady eye!

Something Wicked this way comes!

Here is a selection of Witch's hats, perfect for Trick or Treating, fancy dress parties or wearing to the shops! :) 

This one is pre-made and all sparkly, I have decorated it with metal charms,feather and spider ribbon, it is set on the angle and comfortable to wear.

These are smaller and are pre-made from felt and I have decorated these with gems,feathers,lace and sequins ...this first one is SOLD! 

This one is all hand made (apart from the velvet Alice band) ..it stands taller and is more pointy with the took crooked, it has a feather, cobweb ribbon and a metal crow charm dangling from the point.

I have set it on the angle and it is suitable for teen to adults.

Finally ...we mustn't forget the black cat, every witch has a black cat ...these cute eats are made from real leather and have cute bows for decoration!

Masks galore! I have been busy

 Fabric drenched in stiffener layered over a mask base and painted silver.

 Veggie tanned leather wet moulded and shaped.

 Hand painted in black, gold and silver, with added gems.

 Gold and purple mask with lots of glitter, a real carnival stunner.

 Shimmering black fabric mask with feathers and veiling.

 Navy blue masquerade mask with fluffy feathers and lots of bling.

 Witchcraft mask, feathers, ribbon and stiffened natural fibers, decorated with witch themed metal charms and cobweb ribbon.

 Scarecrow mask ..made with hessian and black feathers, I used fabric stiffener on the hessian and painted it in copper brown and black.

Leather mask

I have now finished my leather mask, (I love making these!) I need about a week to make one as the drying out can take a day or two, can't be rushed. I have gently shaped it around my styro head and then painted the leather black and decorated with three metal studs.

I could use leather dye but it appears that dyes fades quite quickly so I prefer to work the paint into the front side leaving the back natural.

 

 The edges have tints of pewter colour and it ties with long black ribbon.

 

 It is comfortable to wear, lightweight and 1.2 - 1.6 mm in thickness.
